Words Have the Power to Change Us
I Love You To Life.
For my project I created something that is very much my style. It has watercolors, zentangles, book pages, and a quote. My favorite thing is to make art inspired by quotes so I feel like this one was very me. The heart in the center was always my main concept but there were several steps that my project went through to get to this point. My goal was for people to see it and have to stop and think about what it meant. I feel like too many people go through life without really thinking about things and so by doing this I hoped to make them think about what this quote meant to them personally. This is probably my favorite project out of everything this semester because I really connected with it and it was my style. I hope my audience gets that feeling of really trying to understand their life, because I think this piece has the potential to evoke these emotions.
To the Stars Who Listen And The Dreams That Are Answered
For this project I had a really hard time coming up with a design. I still don’t feel like I did the greatest job with this one but I really enjoy the final result. This piece has a girl looking straight ahead with stars all around her and a quote that looks like it was written on ripped up paper. My goal with this piece was to get the viewer to look at a good piece of artwork but instead of stopping there, I wanted them to be able to look deeper into it. I enjoy this piece because I feel like it once again is something I would do. I also had a hard time coming up with the design so the fact that I ended up with something I enjoy makes me happy. I hope my audience sees a girl surrounding by stars which represent possibilities and a quotes that represents the hope for dreaming.
Wanderlust And City Dust
I created London spelled out with pictures of the city. I also put raindrops on top of the entire post card because London is often very rainy. There is also a view of the skyline at the bottom. My goal with this piece was for someone to see a place that have heard about in a new light. This was my first art piece in Photoshop so I really enjoy it and I feel like if I saw this in a shop somewhere I would pick it up. I hope my audience sees a place that they would like to visit and that they would want to buy it.
You Are Never Too Old To Set Another Goal Or Dream Another Dream
For this project I created a new book cover for The Chronicles of Narnia. Mr. Tumnus, a character from the book, is in the middle with trees all around him and snow everywhere. I am an avid reader so when I was assigned the task of creating a new book cover I was very happy, but when it came time to actually doing this I didn’t have any ideas. I have always loved the Narnia movies and have wanted to read them for years, so even though we were supposed to pick a book that we’ve read, and I’ve read plenty so it’s not like I didn’t have any options, I went with one that I have never read. I hope my audience looks at this cover and really see what Narnia is all about. The magical mysteries of being a child and never giving up on dreams or hopes
All Monsters Are Human
For my movie poster project I created a poster with multiple elements. There is a skeleton sitting down and it looks as though he was painted on the billboard. I have trees in my background as well as a moon and the title of the movie looks as though it has been painted on the billboard as well. For this poster my goal was to create something that looked creepy but wasn’t terrifying to look at. I wanted to get the horror movie vibe across in my piece but also not too horror that no one would want to see it. I really enjoy this piece and it makes me feel proud because I had a really hart time coming up with this concept and I feel like I did pretty well at executing it. I hope my audience gets that “this is just another horror film, or is it.” I think that would make the audience really question the intent to the movie.
